One of my many New Year's Resolutions was to complete some older projects and yet there are so many planned that I'm wanting to start!
This is one of the sweaters I promised myself I would finish as it was started at least three years ago and has been finished for over two years. All I needed to do was stitch it together. That's the part I don't like at all.
I also managed to complete a shawl and a hat and scarf using Brooks Fiber Farm
yarn that I scored at Rheinbeck. This yarn is just a delight to work with both in
hand and colors. And This is my daughter, Amy, modeling the hat and scarf. This diagonal lace pattern was sooo easy! It was a beanie in Interweave Knits. I just modified the beanie so that it would cover her head more and then used the same stitch for a scarf. It took some playing around with patterns until I found the one I used because at first I made a basket weave and it wasn't what I wanted and then I tried Brooks Farm pattern and that still wasn't right. So I was quite pleased with this lace pattern. I think Amy was also. She and I both love green...any shade...it doesn't matter.
At Rheinbeck I bought tons of yarn (my basket of yarn photo got lost in the computer problems) And I know I'm talking about a three month old issue but I had computer problems!!
And I also bought myself a swift. I don't know how I ever lived without one! It is just the greatest thing since peanut butter! And I really love mine as the wood is very nice and has a good amount of varnish on it. Some I saw were raw wood and I was afraid the yarn would get caught in the cracks.
Guess you can tell there is a winter storm going on. And I've been in the house for five days now. That's why I have time to post!
I worked last on New Year's Day. And shortly after eating lunch I developed take your breath away chest pain...mid sternal and right through to my back. Since I work in CCU we hooked me up to the monitor and took my vitals. I was clammy and short of breath. Not a good sign! The heart Rhythm looked fine...no changes there but I was tachy. (Hmm HR and BP a little elevated) I got a Dr. to order lab work and a friend drew it. But that was normal. The pain has continued although not nearly as sharp. I was sure it was gall bladder. So Tues I went to the Dr. and stopped. no pretended not to diagnose myself. He suspects it is a GI (gastro-intestinal) problem so tomorrow at 6:30AM I have to have an Endoscopy. The Dr. uses a longgggggggg scope to go down checking your esophagus and stomach. I've seen it done many times but never been the patient. And oh I'm not looking forward to this. Plus all my friends work. So I'm going by myself and taking a taxi! You can't drive because you're sedated.
Oh my, this is not fun. I've been able to distract myself with knitting and posting until now. Think I'll go start another project to occupy my mind.
Wish me luck!

Love the beanie. Hated my gall bladder, so....pouf...out it went. If that's what your problem is, wave goodbye to it, and don't look back. Troublemaking little monster it is!
